Update Week 1

It has been a slow, but pleasant, start to the new year.  The mild weather has continued and we have been going about our day to day activities at a relaxed pace. 

The kids have been working hard on their school work:

We've been playing a lot of games as a family.  Justin got a deck of Phase 10 cards from his Nana and absolutely LOVES them.  We've played at least one game a day.

We also got a new Clue game for children called Clue Carnival.  The kids really enjoy it and we've played it pretty much every day as well.  I like it because Samantha can easily play by herself and even Andrew occasionally joins in.  It truly is a game for the whole family.

And the kids have been very good about just playing by themselves this year.  It has been a lot of fun to stumble across them playing something quietly (or not so quietly) by themselves.

Samantha and Andrew playing with the Cars movie cars. They received Cars 2 for Christmas and we now have a totally renewed interest in the cars from the old movie as well as new Cars 2 characters. 

Justin put together a Magic Dots dragonfly.  The kids love Play-Doh and play with it often.  This was an interesting twist on that type of play.  His end result was quite remarkable.
