Day 61/365

Friday, February 27th:The day of our big trip. Summary: Kevin's co-worker was getting married. He'd gone to OCS with Haffner and they now work in the same National Guard unit. They are having a sort of destination wedding up in New Hampshire. Several people are making a big weekend vacation of it. Because of Andrew, we're only staying one night instead of two. I have to get back to my nursing baby! We're going to attend the welcome dinner on Friday night, hang out Saturday morning and go to the wedding and reception before heading home late at night. Kevin is in the sword ceremony.
I dropped the kids off at my mom's, went to swim class, rushed home, took a shower and got dressed. Kevin was there and we left together for the long drive to New Hampshire. It took us a bit longer than we thought, but we made it. The hotel was nice, but very quaint in an old fashioned way. It reminded us of our honeymoon.
The welcome dinner was nice. The food was wonderful. We sat at a table with the other National Guardsmen and their wives. I should have known, but I surprised to see people I knew :)
The picture above is actually from Saturday. We narrowed down our favorite pictures from the event and the top three were from Saturday. We're standing on a bridge next to the church. The river was beautiful with the ice sculptures and rapids flowing over boulders. I wish there wasn't so much snow alongside the road so we could have watched the river as it flowed down the mountain next to the road.
