Day 14/365

Saturday, January 10th, 2008:
Kevin was away at drill. This was actually a three-day drill and he'd been away the previous Friday. We missed him as always.
My father's mother, Grandma Judy was in town from Michigan. A visit from her is rare and special - they are few and far between since she moved a few years ago. She came to lunch at my parents' house and we joined them.
Can you believe it? I forgot my camera! I had downloaded my photos the night before and just assumed it was in my bag when I grabbed it while heading out the door. Imagine my horror when I realized that was not the case. I almost drove the 30 minute round trip to go and get it. However, spending time with a beloved grandmother is more important than capturing an image of that event.
So, this day's photo will be of the kids playing with their Noah's Ark - a gift from Angie Miller a while back. They'd rediscovered it in one of my many attempts to clean their room and loved the animals. Since there are two of every animal, they decided that Justin should have the 'boy' animals and Samantha should have the 'girl' animals (the ones with eyelashes). They are so cute and for about two and a half days the animals were the only thing the kids would play with. They're still around and being played with, but they're not the 'end-all' that they were :)
