Project 365 Started!

Hello all!
I've heard of the 365 project before. When I heard about it last year (2008), it was already the middle of January and I thought it was too late to start myself. Plus, I was a little discouraged that the people who had alerted me to it seemed to give up in late January/early February.
I did write a note to think about doing it myself in 2009. Haven't found that note yet, though ...

Then, as I followed Becky Higgins' blog, I discovered that not only was she doing it, but she was creating a wonderful kit to make it easy for us to do it, too! Yay! It was a part of the Creating Keepsakes Kit of the Month and was released on January 1st with a lot of hype and advertising. Apparently, there was a mad-house and CK was severely unprepared and undersupplied. So, they sold out of their 4,000 kits within the first few minutes of release. I'll spare you all the drama and just tell you that though I received a confirmation email (twice), my order was actually too late and is now considered a 'back order'. They have to re-order from China, so I won't get my actual kit for another 6 weeks (though I believe it will be more like 8-10).

But even though I don't have my kit ... I can still take pictures and keep up with my journaling.
I write down the days events in a Word document every evening and oownload, select, crop, edit and export my photos every few days.
I plan to share my photos on this blog and will update at least once a week. Saturday was the day that I had set aside to make sure I edit and order my photos (from Walmart). If I do it more often, great! If not, once a week is fine :) I don't realistically expect myself to download pictures from my camera, edit them and post them to this blog every day!

I hope to become a better photographer through this process. I also hope to develop my artistic eye. While I feel like it's important to include my family in the process, I also want to capture pictures of our surroundings in order to accurately depict a sense of our life in 2009.
